A long line of brand new shoes found on the pavement of London’s Heddon Street at night!
Last night walking along a pavement, it was a little past 11pm and Regent Street was tranquil and looking so pretty. Just as I was about to go past Heddon Street, I noticed a trail of some kind. I could not quite work out what it was but felt it looked like a line of shoes. Then I thought about how ridiculous that sounded. A line of shoes?! Being slightly short sighted, and my vision looking a bit blurry, I felt that perhaps my eyes were deceiving me. My curiousity got the better of me because I moved a bit closer and realised to my astonishment they really were shoes. Random shoes. Men’s shoes. Women’s shoes. All brand new and some with their original tags still attached. Some other people making their way down Heddon Street (off Regent Street) also stopped to stare and smile in bewilderment. Some men and women picked up the ones they liked, to take home.
As I took some photos, a few strangers thought I was the person responsible for them! No one knew who had put them there, or why. I asked a local worker and he was equally baffled but did add that there were many more, better, nicer shoes earlier. It’s a big mystery! Made me smile and laugh. How random! Did the shoe fairy make a visit and decide to leave a trail of shoes?
