Selfridges’ new headphones destination

Last week I was asked by Selfridges to pop down to see its brand new headphones space located on the lower ground floor. I was making my way from east London after attending Christian Louboutin’s press day and for some reason Old Street station had closed. It meant an enormous delay as I had to re-route my journey and madly rush along the way there, when I was already severely pushed for time. In the end, I got to the launch event mighty late but there was still some fun to be had.

Selfridges’ headphones destination stocks an enormous range of headphones. I was told it sells over 500 pairs of headphones. Let that sink in for a moment. OVER FIVE HUNDRED. There are listening areas where you can plug in your own music player to find out precisely how good the headphones sound when listening to your favourite tunes. Premium brands include Astell & Kern and Master & Dynamic, and Ultrasone. Prices go right up to £2,999 a pair, for those seeking the ultimate experience. My personal favourite is the Parrot Zik 2.0 (available in several colours) which is said to be the world’s most advanced headphones and is completely wireless as it uses a Bluetooth connection. NEED.
