The Wish magazine party with Carrie & Lucy
It is funny how things turn out. Many years ago, long before I had started my own fashion blog, my favourite blog was Carrie’s WishWishWish. I remember looking at her site with awe and transported on some kind of magical journey into her world of vintage wonderland. It was truly one of a kind back then and still is today. Since then we have met in person many times – from fashion weeks to press events and award shows where our blogs were nominated for awards, and my admiration for her has grown over the years. Lucy is another delightful blogger who I have had the pleasure of meeting a few times at press events and fashion weeks – she always gives me the warmest, affectionate hugs and I love spending time with her. I am really glad to call Carrie and Lucy my friends, and when I found out they were planning to start a magazine together I felt elated for them. A few weeks ago, I got a lovely surprise when I received a letter through the mailbox with my name on the invitation card, asking me to attend their Wish magazine launch party.

The party itself took place near Camden in London and was so much fun. The turnout was quite wonderful. There was so much going on, with knitting classes, live illustrators willing to draw a sketch of us, drinking and a huge range of treats to eat. The amount of food – especially cakes – on the tables were overwhelming. The lemon curd cake simply had me wishing I could eat plates of it.

When I looked at the magazine, I really was impressed with the quality of the content. With over 85 pages of inspiration and creativity – it is filled with pages featuring lifestyle, interviews, travel, music, illustrations and of course affordable clothes. Now fans have another avenue they can walk into, to get closer into the world of WishWishWish.

I am very excited for Carrie and Lucy, and wish them all the success for the future! I think it is quite an exciting project. Carrie and Lucy are both one of us – fashion bloggers – and they are fulfilling one of their dreams. Wish magazine will be available from 21st May exclusively at magazine.wishwishwish.net for £5.

One man trying a MAC Cosmetics makeover
Days after London Fashion Week was over, quite a few street style photos of me appeared on various fashion and news sites. Everyone said I looked great but I honestly thought I looked awful in them – and still do. One thing that really bothered me was that I appeared to have dark eye circles in some of the shots – which is completely bizarre because I have been told that they are not visible in person yet for some reason they appear when shot by camera. Determined to do something about it, I went down to the MAC store just off Carnaby Street, to tell them about the problem. The make-up artist told me straight out that she could not see any dark circles and felt baffled by my claims. Another problem I had was that my skin is so pale that my facial features simply disappears when a professional DSLR camera flash is used. I have lost count of how many times I have had my photos taken by photographers at launch parties, standing with my friends, and my friends always looked good because they use self-tanners (I don’t) or make-up to darken their skin but due to my super pale skin, you could only see my eyes and lips – other than that it would just be just blank white. The real problem is the DSLR camera flash used by professional photographers tends to be much too powerful for pale skin. Compact camera flashes are usually fine because they are tiny.
So I had asked the make-up artist if she could significantly warm up the colour of my skin. First, she used the Prep & Prime SPF 50 and slowly massaged it in using the palms of her hands. My God, the massaging felt rather HEAVENLY. After this she used the Careblend Powder (Medium) and brushed it all around my face, warning me that it was three shades darker than my normal skin colour. The final product she added was the matt bronzer.
I took these photos at home and never intended to share them with anyone, then a few days later I thought, why not blog about it? What do you think of the look? Does it look too dark (I think it does)? Or does it look good? I would love to try a more yellowish-golden look, rather than the bronze it is. Any suggestions?

REPLAY Laserblast – faded eco-jeans using laser technology
The most common way of designing faded jeans which gives off that worn-out look is to blast the jeans with sand. Rather than employ the sand-blasting method, REPLAY now achieves the same look using laser technology. This way of producing the jeans is much more eco-friendly as there is an enormous 85% reduction in water consumption thanks to the technology. Using laser is also much safer for factory workers, and that is always a good thing.
I was invited along by REPLAY to have some breakfast at the opening event at Selfridges last Friday morning, and had a good chat with the team, discussing what Laserblast was about and how it works. After eating some croissants, I spent nearly 40 minutes having fun trying on some faded jeans in the changing room. I could not decide which pair I liked best – slim, regular, dark blue or light blue? Not easy but in the end I decided on a slim, dark pair! The REPLAY Laserblast jeans are available to buy right now in stores, including Selfridges.
The autumn/winter 2012-13 denim collection includes 5-pocket, regular fit, regular slim and slim models for men. Women have skinny and bootcut models to choose from. Enjoy the photos I took at the Selfridges!

Jimmy Choo Autumn/Winter 2012 AW12 Press Day (77 photos)
The past few weeks have been pretty incredible for me. Getting invited to the Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Louis Vuitton Press Days, then Tatler magazine putting up an outfit photo of me at a party. My feet are still firmly on the ground. The Jimmy Choo autumn and winter Press Day made me realise how much I envy women for the range of choices they have when it comes to shoes. Perhaps I am in the minority amongst my fellow gentlemen but I love looking at women’s shoes as they can be a real work of art. Unlike most men it is not just high heels I appreciate but I greatly love stylish flat pumps as well.
The idea behind the Jimmy Choo autumn/winter 2012 collection is sexy 1970s rock and roll glamour, mixing the styles of Kate Moss and the legendary Jimi Hendrix. It’s a vision Creative Directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway had, of a world where the vibe is said to be decadent yet rebellious. There are embroidered suede, deeply hued snakeskin, shearling and metallic python used across the collection. Enjoy the images and then start counting the days until autumn, when you will finally get the opportunity to buy these remarkable little treasures.

VERSACE Autumn/Winter 2012 AW12 FW12 Press Day
Versace’s autumn and winter collection is looking quite exciting. White leather studded dress, studded boots, furry biker jackets with chains – there were so many items of clothes I consider to be pure eye-candy. Things are looking very good for Versace. I only wish I was a multi-millionaire so that I could buy them all.
Women, you are SO lucky to have these to choose from. I am quite envious.
