Getting my haircut with Murdock London over a glass of whiskey

I normally go to get my haircut every 8 weeks on average and on this occasion I had somehow managed to let the weeks pass me by. It had reached the 13th week and my hair was looking seriously big all over and out of shape. My ears were partially covered up and I greatly dislike that look. It was time for a trim so I popped down to Murdock London in Covent Garden. I have been to the barber a few times in the past. If you haven’t tried the wet shave then you are really missing out, trust me.

My barber for the day was Dan and I felt I was taking quite a risk letting someone new shape my hair as I had a date the very next day. At the time I felt I must have been out of my mind as nothing would spoil my mood quite like my hair looking terrible, and believe me I am incredibly picky about how my hair looks. Luckily Dan was absolutely wonderful. I think one important thing to mention when going in for a haircut, is to know exactly what you want and communicate this very clearly to your barber/hairdresser. Be very precise and don’t leave anything out. Before we got started I was offered a drink of my choice. Naturally I chose whiskey with some ice. Dan was super friendly and chatty. We talked so much over the course of the haircut that by the time it done, we had pretty much exchanged our entire life stories. You can see how it looked the next day (see below) when I went out on my date. It’s fair to say I was pretty thrilled with the cut.
