Minki – Spring and Summer at London Fashion Week

Influenced by Lorenzo Vitturi’s book called “Money Must Be Made”, Minki Cheng based his spring and summer 2019 looks on Vitturi’s passage through Nigerian Balogun Market on Lagos Island. There are clashes of patches, bold-prints, coloured leaves and stripes. All the components of the market, from the group of disparate objects, furniture, textiles, to the flavours are captured and shown in this collection. The colour palette of the collection translates the energy of this imaginative land and adapts the market concept designed by Vitturi. It adds vibrancy using a mixture of yellows, reds and deep sky blues.
