The unveiling of the giant Christmas tree is something of a traditional at Claridge’s. The Mayfair hotel has seen the most prestigious names in fashion design its Christmas trees over the last five years and this season is no exception with Dolce & Gabbana returning for the second year running to create the tree of magic. It is designed to celebrate the children of the world, and brought to life using animated animals such as deer, rabbits and squirrels seeking shelter in the safety of the giant 8 metre tree and warmth from the nearby fire. The tree is decorated with 300 glass baubles, blown by master artisans from Bellagio on Lake Como, each handpainted with flags representing the traditions and magical experience shared by the world the night before Christmas.
