Lunch with LG to Discover OLED Televisions

This year will be a very exciting year for fans of new technologies and gadgets. One technology I am particularly excited about is 4K video. In case you don’t know what 4K is, it basically means the video picture will be much sharper and clearer. Four times sharper than the current video picture quality we are currently used to seeing. This also means you will notice a lot more details, such as blades of the grass when watching football matches and individual hair strands on the head of a person. OLED is another technology that is making its way into televisions that sits at the top of the range. OLED gives the TV picture vibrant colours, and amazing black levels and color accuracy.

I first heard about OLED 4K TVs back in 2014 and patiently waited a long time to see them for myself. Recently I got to see just how good they really are when LG had invited me to a very special lunch hosted by Bompas and Parr at the British Museum of Food. There was a giant OLED 4K TV mounted on the wall right next to our dining table with photos showing some of our favourite world cities which included the likes of London and Paris. The deep blacks, dynamic range and sharpest really did impress. This is the most advanced TV in the world. It is something that you would really need to experience for yourself to fully appreciate. Televisions without OLED screens simply cannot match the colour richness that OLED televisions provide.

I found myself feeling quite excited about this year and cannot wait to get my hands on an OLED 4K TV, particularly as my phone, the LG G4, is fully capable of recording video in 4K. You can also watch 4K movies from Netflix and Amazon Instant Video via their streaming services and pretty soon you will be able to buy 4K blu-ray movies. Looks like it is going to be a terrific year!
