Selfridges’s Christmas 2010 windows are up!

London is quickly gearing up for the upcoming Christmas season. Lights were put up on Oxford Street steadily over the past few weeks so they would be ready in time to be switched on for early November. Christmas decorations and lights are also going up on Regent Street and some of the shops are also making their own preparations. Selfridges are world famous for their artsy window displays and the Christmas windows are always, by far, the most popular ones. I noticed at least one common theme amongst the windows….EYES. They have added eyes everywhere – from shirts, jeans, socks to shoes – presumably to make them look alive, friendly and playful. According to The Press Association: “The retailer said it had dressed its 27 streetside windows with a ‘play’ theme, encouraging youngsters and adults alike to ‘awake the child within’.”

Work on the windows have not been completed yet but here are some photos I took:
