Every gentleman should own at least one pair of brogues. I love a good pair of lace-ups and until this year I used to wear a pair of Oxford shoes daily. These are made by Barker – an English manufacturer who have been producing the finest shoes for over 120 years (1880). They are pricey but in my opinion well worth having as you pay for quality and excellent craftmanship. The moment you see and feel a pair of Barker shoes in person with your hands, you can tell instantly they are something special.
I began liking them because of my dad. He has been buying from them since he was young and I am amazed how well he takes care of them. They all look brand new despite being decades old. I have been complimented by many women for the shoes I wear – something I find funny as they really do have a thing about shoes. Not just their own shoes but even shoes men wear. I have heard that women even decide whether they are attracted or not attracted to a man based on a pair of shoes he wears. A pair they perceive to be ugly will put them off. Whether this really is true or not, I do not know. Apparently they always notice the shoes you are wearing, and I am assuming this is because they love shoes soooo much. Haha.
As you can see from the photos, I have not worn them yet and plan on saving them for special occasions. :]

I never thought girls noticed guys' shoes. but as I was preparing to comment I thought, 'Ohh I love those shoes and I always like it when guys where nice shoes..' Sooo uhmm Maybe I do notice guys' shoes more than I noticed before. I do like the new shoes btw. they look lovely and very well made!

Thank you! I love really smart looking shoes – they compliment the rest of what you are wearing and I think they make you look more “gentlemanly” too. When I am not wearing Converses, I am usually wearing lace-up shoes. :]
