A few years ago I used to have a coffee machine. While it did make decent coffee, it was also took a few minutes before pouring out a cup’s worth. The machine used a filter and required a daily clean which was a terrible nuisance. Recently the Tassimo T20 was given to me to play with, to review and blog about my experience of it. It’s safe to say I am hooked.
You have a HUGE variety of drinks to pick from including tea! Others are: Twinings of London English Breakfast tea, Earl Grey, Cadbury hot chocolate, Kenco Medium Roast, Mastro Lorenzo Espresso, Cote D’Or, Mastro Lorenzo Crema, Twinings of London Chai Latte, Latte Macchiato, Carte Noire Cappuccino, Kenco Caffe Crema, Suchard, Kenco Colombian, Milka, Caramel Latte Macchiato and so much more.
Rather than use ground coffee, it uses a T-disc system. T-discs are little containers which are shaped like a disc, and these discs contain all the ingredients for your drink. You insert a T-disc into the machine, hit the start button and off it goes. This part is something quite marvellous because it takes around 35 seconds before your drink is hot and ready! Incredible. I use filtered water (from my Britas water filter jug) instead of using water directly from the tap for my drinks because it just tastes better. The drinks tastes really good! I have 4 different packet of flavours and cannot wait to try some different ones.
I love the fact that there is very little maintenance involved as the machine also has an automatic cleaning, and descaling process which is very easy to use. You only need to do this once every few months. Very convenient. With my old coffee machine I had to clean the filter every day and wipe it clean.
You can also use a variety of cup sizes from small to a extra large, tall mug!
The Tassimo is made by Bosch which is a highly reputable German brand. I have a Bosch fridge-freezer and washing machine. Both have given me 5+ years of trouble-free service. The reason why I picked Bosch is because it is said to be amongst the very best brands for reliability by “Which?” Magazine. Featuring solid construction and style, it’s a great little coffee maker.
