Street Style: a blonde woman watching from afar, at Somerset House

Standing around, looking for ladies and gents rocking their outfits, I spotted a woman standing far away from the mass crowd at Somerset House. She stood a good 50-60 yards away, on her own. Perhaps she was shy. Perhaps she found it overwhelming being nearer the Catwalk Space building where most of the very best dressed stood – surrounded by hoards of reporters, photographers and video cameramen. It can be intimidating at first because if you do stand out then you find so many people looking in your direction. Then you know you are being carefully scrutinised, inch by inch. Standing right on the edge of Somerset House, right by the exit/entrance the woman never came any closer, so I went up to her and asked her if I could take her photo. Responding in her softly spoken voice, she happily accepted and came across quite shy which I found rather endearing.

I loved her outfit – she looked ready for anything. The leather shorts, clutch bag and peep-toe ankle boots all complement each other. Not sure if they are real, faux leather or a combination of them but the look works. I love the colour of her blouse. Teal is not a common colour but it is a very attractive, radiant shade! The boots are A++.

I wish I had asked for her contact details because I would love to take more photos using different outfits. I didn’t ask, so I miss out. Bah. Lesson learnt! Well hopefully learnt. We’ll see.
