This is picture of me having a photo shoot

I posted this photo on lookbook.nu last summer. It’s a fashion site I am shamelessly addicted to. Mainly because it’s 95% full of the “boy/girl next door” amateur models using their own clothes and accessories. Unlike with professional models there are no professional stylists, make-up artist, hairdresser to help them out. Most of the individuals on lookbook create their own look without much help from anyone else. I love seeing people get creative with clothes and accessories. It is something I consider to be quite inspiring. These people are so much more interesting to me than nearly all the professional models you see in commercial shoots.

I styled myself in this photo. Everything I am wearing in this shoot was chosen by me – the top hat, blazer, jumper, shirt, bag – everything. I am not a hat person and really do not think they suit me however, on the spur of the moment I decided to give it a try. In case you happen to be wondering, the location where it was taken, is my very favourite museum – the Victoria and Albert (V&A), where I am a regular visitor. It felt incredibly special to shot inside such a prestigious, grand old building with so much history. Until today I had only shared the photo privately with a few people and now I am just thinking, “Why not post it in public?” So here we are. I hope everyone likes it!
