VIDEO: Christmas lights launch at Oxford Street – 2011

Last Tuesday saw the Christmas lights on Oxford Street being switched on for the upcoming Christmas season. There were live bands, fireworks and plenty of sing-alongs at the event attended by several hundreds of people! The Saturdays were there to switch the lights on after performing a number of tracks. The Oxford Street Christmas lights switch on is a yearly ritual for me. I always go and freeze – standing there for 2 hours, only this time I did not freeze because it was fairly mild. A few people had asked me to put up a video so here you can see what it’s like on Oxford Street these days, after dark. Yay! I love how Selfridges is positively beaming, and it is good to see Debenhams and House of Fraser come up with a different look this year.
