Last week an invitation popped in my mailbox with my name on it, leading me to a private party I attended at boutique in Notting Hill. Let me tell you, after just one visit I am already in love with this place. Unlike its neighbouring rivals in the area, The Village Bicycle is not your typical shop. In a place packed with smart, artsy looking boutiques, this one sticks out with its quirky and rebellious interiors. I met up with its owner, Willa, who told me about how she had set out to create something fresh and different for the area. It is certainly distinctive. Many of the products on sale here are handpicked from around the world, so you can be sure these are bound to be items you won’t find easily elsewhere. It has a wide range of well known names including Mark Fast, Todd Lynn, Felder Felder, Lulu Guinness, Daisy Knights, Matthew Williamson and Converses (premium range) to mention a few. You will find dresses, coats, trousers with wild prints, shoes, sunglasses, magazines, t-shirts (I am fond of the Karl Lagerfeld ones), books, skulls and even…. water pistols. Yes, a very random mix! I especially like how there is a seating area resembling a couch by the giant window, with accompanying cushions. Prices start from around £2 and goes high up into four-figure sums so there is pretty much something to suit all budget sizes.

The party itself was pretty damn good. Willa ensured we all had a good time. The music was provided by two DJs and the drinks flowed all through from evening to night, with Bourbons, Champagne and a mixture of numerous other drinks. There was even a hot dog stand outside! The guests were wonderful and made me feel right at home, and later on some girls from Burberry came over! I got to chat, drink and spend time with them, including Cara Delevingne who I got to meet for the second time since seeing her at London Fashion Week for the Burberry Prorsum SS12 show.

I had a truly wonderful time and The Village Bicycle is already one of my favourite places. I cannot wait to go back as it’s well worth a visit. Tomorrow I will post my photo of Cara Delevingne!

Oh it’s definitely a lot of fun to look in there! I love it because there is no other boutique quite like it.  The place is fun and has bags of character. :]

Definitely add it to your list.  It’s very near where Nathalia lives so I am sure you will be in the area anyway when you are next in London.  I wish you were coming this year but I know you will have lots of fun here, next year too!
