The Elite London #elitemodellook finalists walk in public for the first time

Following up from yesterday’s post, after hours of learning all about walking the catwalk like a professional model for the first time last Saturday, the 22 young finalists were thrown into the deep end on the very same day. They were driven in taxis to one of Her Majesty the Queen’s homes, Buckingham Palace, where they would walk in public for the very first time. It was an ideal location as it is a wide open space with no vehicles getting in the way, and the surface of ground is smooth and even.

I don’t think the girls and boys knew what to expect, and neither did I but that is part of the thrill. I did expect to see some reactions from the tourists but I don’t think anyone quite expected the level of excitement the mock-up catwalk would eventually generate. There was no ramp laid out, so the models all had to use their imagination. Once the models started walking, they had to move around standing tourists who were too busy admiring Buckingham Palace. As the momentum gathered pace, the tourists began to notice what was going on and were soon glued to watching the show the finalists were putting on. Incredibly, then the watchful crowd created a large rectangular shaped boundary, allowing plenty of space for the girls and boys to walk up and down the imaginary catwalk ramp. The buzz it created all around was sensational. The female spectators couldn’t get enough of the boys and some male members of the public took their top off to pose with the 11 boys. So funny!

Tonight all 22 girls and boys will take part in a catwalk show at a press event and then the winners of the #elitemodellook competition will be declared. A party will follow. I can’t wait.
