Ice skating with Emily Johnston & friends on behalf of Coach at Somerset House

Last Friday there was an intimate gathering at Somerset House as Emily Johnston invited me and her friends to be amongst the very first people to skate on ice at the venue. I was quite delighted to see the ice rink back as it re-ignites the feeling of magic for Christmas. It’s not Christmas until you see an outdoor ice rink, and this one is possibly my favourite. We had gathered in the VIP area for drinks and mingled. It was a rainy evening and we feared that it could thwart our plans to skate. Fortunately, our fears were short-lived as the rain did stop within 20 minutes and many of us took to the ice for the first time since January.

After the skating, we had all retired to Tom’s Kitchen for food, drinks and more chats. It really was the perfect way to round off the working week. Amongst the attendees were Navaz Batliwalla, Sasha Wilkins, Emily Johnston and Alexandra Vanthournout. It was a real pleasure to catch up with them all. Thank you for inviting me, Emily and Coach!

Coach’s sponsorship of the rink is the first UK sponsorship for the brand, and a very exciting partnership with one of London’s most fashionable venues. Skate at Somerset House, presented by Coach, opens to the public tomorrow (14th November).

Oh Jai’me, this is so dreamy! Your photographs are stunning. I’m planning my 1st ever ice skating experience for next month in New York and I’m so excited, even more so after reading this. Hope you’ve had a great weekend.

Ahh, I saw loads of photos of this on Instagram. Looks like loads of fun. Although I’m not sure how good of an idea it would be for me to mix champagne and ice-skating. Eeek. xx

I know, I had to watch the champagne too or risk spending the evening dragging my entire body along the ice with my hands! It’s really lovely to see you comments here, Jen! :]
