The day Princess Charlotte of Cambridge was born

There was so much excitement all across the country last Saturday, even more so in London, when The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth a 8lbs 3oz baby girl. She has been named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, and is given the title of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. I made my way down to Buckingham Palace to witness the official birth announcement which was posted on an easel behind the palace gates. It was a historic moment and as a proud Briton I had worn my Union Jack bow tie to mark the occasion. Over the last few weeks I had expected the Royal baby to be a boy but was hoping for a girl, so imagine my surprise when my wish came true!

Welcome to our lovely world Princess Charlotte.
