An iconic figure in the world of arts and renowned for her work alongside with fashion designer Ossie Clark, textile designer Celia Birtwell has worked with Uniqlo to bring out a special collection. Using her archives, the prints have been updated and made available across t-shirts, tunic vests, shirts, leggings pants, pyjama pants, culottes, tote bags and stoles. Last Thursday evening I attended the launch and my goodness, it was extremely busy. The products were flying off the shelves and I had to keep moving out of the way.

The high street chain has previously worked with Lulu Guiness, Jil Sander, Laura Ashley and Orla Kiely. Celia worked with Topshop back in 2006 for a collection which eventually caught the eyes of Uniqlo. Prices of the clothes from Celia’s own label start from several hundred pounds and go beyond 2 and a half thousand pounds, so naturally her fans will delight in the fact that they will be able to buy her prints at high street prices thanks to the collaboration. Prices start from £9.90 for a stole, while t-shirts sell for £12.90. Dresses are £29.90. I plan on buying a couple of the gorgeous Celia Birtwell canvas tote bags for myself (coming soon) once they are available.

The Uniqlo x Celia Birtwell collection is now available in-store and online.
