What: It was for the opening of luxury Austrian label Wolford’s newest boutique on Marylebone’s High Street – an area known for its villagey feel, which, although it is next door to Oxford Street, makes you question whether you really are in central London.

More: It marks the brand’s sixth store in London and carries the entire range: Ready-to-wear, Hosiery, Lingerie including Shape and Control, and Accessories. “We are very excited to be opening our 3rd Central London store and 6th store in London. London is our focal point over the next 3 years as we plan to expand our retail arm of the business. With our new furniture concept in the Marylebone High Street store, we look forward to bringing a fresh and exciting shopping experience to our new and existing consumers” says Angela Blundell, the Market Director of Wolford UK.
This branch is bigger than the one found on Regent Street, and has a mini lounge outside the fitting room – with sofa chairs and magazines to read. Comfy! I spoke with PR lady Sidonie who informed me that despite only opening a few weeks ago, the boutique has already exceeded expectations – with locals all around town fully embracing it, and popping inside to stock up on luxury goods. Sales have been strong. Naturally the Wolford team is delighted. The party went on until late and champagne kept on coming! Right before I left, I was asked to join in with the Wolford team for a group photo which you can see above. So much fun. It was an evening to remember, and I am very grateful for being made to feel extremely welcome.
