The Magic of Christmas at Harrods (2013)

I went down to Knightsbridge last evening to capture the Christmas spirit at Harrods, in all its glory. Sometimes I have to pinch my arm to remind myself how lucky we are to have not one but four world-class department stores right here in London. There are many readers of this blog who do not live in the United Kingdom, and so I felt you may wish to see how Christmas is shaping up in the city. There have been many splendid Christmas window displays by the top retailers but this year, for me, Harrods tops them all. The world famous luxury department store’s truly magnificent displays are influenced by the historic British steam train to create the magical Harrods Express. Each train carriage presents the store’s premium brand products including evening gowns, fine jewellery and the most sought-after toys for Christmas. Walking along the building and staring into each window took me on a journey into another world!

Every year, retailers in the country pull out all the stops to dazzle and amaze shoppers over Christmas using beautiful window displays. Harrods’ Christmas windows, which took a team of 50 people over 500 hours to build, took my breath away. Well done Harrods. Bravo!
