Evening party with Ralph Lauren & Jack Carlson on New Bond Street

There was a magnificent private party behind the doors at Ralph Lauren’s UK flagship store on No. 1 New Bond Street last Thursday evening for the launch of Jack Carlson’s book entitled Rowing Blazers. The book is an insightful look at how blazers are worn by oarsmen and women from all around the world, and covers the history of kits from prestigious rowing clubs, illustrated using vintage images and photography by F. E. Castleberry.

The purple carpet was laid outside to welcome guests, including rowers from a number of boat clubs and Olympic medallists George Nash, Tom James, Will Satch, Sarah Winkless and Hardy Cubasch. Pimm’s, champagne and canapes were served as we mingled and listened to the jazzy tunes wonderfully provided by a live band. I must congratulate Jack on the success of this great book. Thank you Jack and Ralph Lauren, for making it an evening to remember!
